TANIGUCHI AWAMORI
Exclusively sold and bottled by Webb's Grainworks. Taniguchi Awamori is born across the pacific in Okinawa, Japan. Awamori is considered to be the first distilled spirit ever produced in Japan, even before its cousin shochu.
It is 100% long grain rice based and fermented with black Koji. This product is only produced in Okinawa, Japan in very small batches. It's 300 years old yet is widely unknown in the spirits world. Webb's is the only distillery in the United States importing this product into the country and bottling it on premises. Awamori is 86 proof and drinks nice over ice, in a cocktail or at room temp with a dashi back. The natural umami of the rice and toasty notes of the black koji give this spirit a beautiful succulence. It pairs well with spicy and salty foods.
